Transcription of Portal for Online Monitoring of Projects-Thermal (Prompt) To meet the projected coal and lignite-based capacity of 283 GW by 2031-2032, Ministry of Power has envisaged minimum coal and lignite-based capacity addition of about 80 GW. Out of this, 28.4 GW capacity is under construction and 4.8 GW capacity has been awarded during financial year 2024 to 2025 and another 4 GW capacity is going to be awarded in coming months. candidate thermal projects of about 57.6 GWh have been identified and are at various stages of planning with an aim of commissioning by 2031-2032. To strengthen the project monitoring and to keep the updated information on progress of the projects, an online project monitoring portal has been developed by CEA. The portal aims to provide a repository of information of under-construction thermal projects. It helps in effective monitoring of key milestones of these projects. The major key milestones monitored by CEA are boiler hydro test, boiler light up, TG box up, steam blowing, rolling synchronization, full load of the machine and successful trial run of the thermal generating unit. The portal provides close coordination with project developers, equipment suppliers and contractors. Further, the portal has been developed with the aim of enhancing the accuracy, transparency, efficiency and accountability in monitoring of under-construction thermal power projects. In addition to these, the portal provides the facility of online issuance of commissioning certificates to the project authorities. The portal will play a pivotal role in identification of critical issues, timely completion of the projects thereby reducing both time and cost overheads.
