Web Content Review Policy (CRP)

The contents of the NPP are subject to regular review by IT Cell & Procurement Division, CEA. This process ensures that all information remains current, accurate, and reflective of the CEA's goals and initiatives. Reviews are conducted monthly, providing a structured and consistent schedule for updates. This frequency ensures that NPP is continuously monitored and updated to meet the evolving needs and priorities of power sector. By maintaining this routine, CEA ensures that its online presence remains a reliable and effective resource for its stakeholders.

Content Archival Policy (CAP)

Time-sensitive content, such as various reports related to power sector (i.e. generation, transmission, distribution) is archived under the corresponding section's Archive. The Content Archival Policy is outlined as follows:

Security policy

  • NPP has been placed in protected zones with implementation of firewalls and high availability solutions.
  • Before launch of NPP, simulated penetration tests have been conducted.
  • NPP has been audited for known application-level vulnerabilities before the launch and all the known vulnerability has been addressed by Developer.
  • Hardening of servers has been done as per the guideline of Cyber Security division before the launch of NPP by Hosting organization.
  • Access to web servers hosting NPP is restricted both physically and through the network as far as possible.
  • Logs are maintained for authorized physical access of NPP hosting servers by hosting organization.
  • Web-servers hosting NPP are configured behind WAF and with other necessary system firewalls on them.
  • All the development work is done on separate development environment and is well tested on staging server before updating it on the production server.
  • After testing properly on the staging server, the applications are uploaded to the production server.
  • The content contributed by/from remote locations is duly authenticated and is not published on the production server directly.
  • Any content contributed has to go through the moderation process before final publishing to the production server.
  • All contents of the web pages are checked for intentional or unintentional malicious content before final upload to web server pages.
  • Audit and Log of all activities involving the operating system, access to the system, and access to applications are maintained and archived.
  • All newly released system software patches; bug fixes and upgrades are expediently and regularly reviewed and installed on the web server.
  • Physical Security: The servers are located in a secure hosting facility at National Informatics Centre Data Center, Shastri Park.
  • Data Security and Back up is ensured by hosting organization National Informatics Centre.

Website Monitoring Plan

The operational and functional aspects of NPP are monitored by IT Cell & Procurement Division, CEA. NPP is monitored periodically to address and fix the quality and compatibility issues namely, performance, functionality, broken links, traffic analysis and feedback from visitors. The responsibilities for performance, functionality, broken links, traffic analysis, and feedback fall under the purview of IT Cell & Procurement Division, CEA and NIC. The Feedback mechanism through feedback form made available for taking feedback from the visitors
